Organizing
Mega sports events have multiple impacts on a host city
or region: economic, environmental or social. Organizing
Committee Commonwealth Games (hereinafter referred to
as OC) wants to proactively approach social and environmental
dimensions related to the organizing of the Commonwealth
Youth Games in Pune in 2008 and Commonwealth Games in
Delhi in 2010. The OC has the mission to organize the
Commonwealth Games while showcasing the principles,
of sustainable development. The goal of the OC is to
minimize the overall environmental footprint of such
events and manage the socio-economic impacts in a responsible
manner.
With this objective,
the OC invites Request for Proposals from leading consultancy
firms with expertise in the area of providing consultancy
and implementation services in the field of sustainable
development, and in particular of integrating sustainable
development concepts in large projects thereby acting
as advisors and implementation facilitators to the Organising
Committee for these initiatives
